Infrared cabins and how they work?

In recent years, infrared cabins are enjoying increasing popularity. They are quickly ready for use and require little space. As the name implies, the heating of the cabin is realized on an infrared basis. Infrared radiation is a natural form of energy that is also present in solar radiation.

Infrared radiation â € “what is it?

The rays emanating from the sun hit the earth as so-called Gobal radiation. When entering the atmosphere, this radiation is attenuated. It is divided into visible light, UV and infrared radiation (IR radiation). But it’s not just the sun that creates IR rays. Any body with a temperature above -273 ° C or 0 Kelvin will emit IR radiation. The higher the temperature of the body, the more IR-absolute zero (radiates radiation), and at the same time shortens the wavelength of the radiation.

The human eye is unable to see infrared rays. The situation is different with the largest organ: the skin perceives it as warmth. Therefore, one often speaks of a so-called heat radiation. Incidentally, the effect is well-known: being in the sun will warm you up quickly. Outside the sun, in the shade, it feels instantly cooler, even though the air temperature is actually the same in both areas. At the actual Lufterwärmrmung the IR radiation is not involved.

The infrared radiation can be subdivided into different areas, which heat different areas of the skin and thus produce different effects:

IR-A: Shortwave radiation in the range of 0.76 to 1.4 μm. The radiation penetrates down to the subcutis, where it provides a pleasant and relaxing deep warmth. Infrared A radiation is used primarily in the field of medical therapies. Among other things, physicians can effectively and very directly treat diseased or inflammatory tissue structures. The radiation is only in the hands of medical and medical personnel.

IR-B: The medium-wave radiation (IR = 1.4 â € “3.0 Âμm) warms the head in the area of the dermis or the epidermis. The intensity of the rays in the IR-B range is very high. Therefore, pure infrared B radiation is usually perceived as unpleasant.

IR-C: The long-wave radiation (IR = 3.0 to 10 Âμm) heats only the uppermost skin layer. It is a stimulating and soothing radiation and is suitable for the individual wellness area at home.

The infrared C radiation offers a health effect. Decisive for this is the warming of the body. The rays warm the epidermis (skin). The improved blood flow allows the heat to be distributed directly over the body. Even at a relatively low temperature in the cabin interior you can start to sweat.

The applications of infrared radiation

Infrared radiation can be used in many different ways.

Medicine makes use of its positive effect as well as athletes or the wellness industry.

Anyone affected by physical complaints before starting an application should consult a doctor first.

The advantages at a glance:

The lymph channels are widened by the warming, thus stimulating the sweat flow.

A better supply of the relaxed tissue with blood. This can help to reduce sprain, bruises, inflammation, wounds or scars.

After exercising, the use of IR rays is beneficial for the after-treatment of muscle aches or sports injuries.

Positive effects of a â € œighting shotâ € or of rheumatism.

Possible alleviation of menstrual cramps.

The oxygen transport in the body can be promoted and optimized by the better blood circulation.

The improved circulation has a positive effect on the skin.

The rays can have a positive effect on preventive measures for heart and vascular diseases.

Warmth promotes well-being. This allows better relaxation and less stress.

IR radiation initiates various processes in the body. They reduce the acidity level and purify the body.

Sweating is important

Many people often experience sweating unpleasantly. It is a vital and completely natural process and an important factor in well-being. With the body’s own system, sweat formation takes on the function of an air conditioning system. When the body heats up due to physical exertion or external warmth, for example in the sun, it needs a cooling down. In this case, the sweat glands, which are spread all over the skin, start their work.

But sweat does not just regulate body temperature. Sweat also helps the body eliminate toxins and other toxic metabolic wastes. Normally, the daily amount of separated sweat is approx. one to two liters a day. With heavy physical stress, it can rise to up to 1.5 liters per hour.

Is sweating anti-toxic and detoxifying?

Unfortunately, when researching our infrared cabin test, we were struck by vendors who claim that sweating is especially healthy and would help detoxify. Toxins would leave the body through the skin. This thesis is scientifically refuted. Scientists confirm that sweat, according to laboratory tests, contains NO toxins but consists of 99 percent water.

As the dermatologist Martin Schaller of the Tübingen University Hospital confirms to the star and Professor of Dermatology at St. Louis University, Dee Anna Glasa, sweat serves only to cool the body down. Toxins are not excreted through the skin, but through the intestines and urinary tract.

The different emitters

To produce infrared radiation, the trade offers various devices and spotlights. Typically, power is used to heat a metallic body. An IR radiation element is formed, quartz sand or magnesium oxide, optionally coated with ceramic or steel, is incorporated. Another possibility are electrical surface radiators. The following IR radiators are widely used today:

Magnesium oxide emitters: Magnesium oxide emitters, also called magnesium W emitters, have been used in infrared cabins for more than 30 years. These models consist of a curved, very high quality and heat resistant stainless steel tube. Inside is a filling made of magnesia and in it runs a heating wire. The tubes store excellent heat and emit infrared radiation in consistent quality and constant. The various model variants are equipped with, among other things, back reflectors. They emit the infrared heat at a beam angle of approx. 45Â °, an optimal heat absorption of the body is achieved.

Ceramic spotlights: These types of IR spotlights are among the best-known variants. They consist of a ceramic body. In this body, a heating element is cast during manufacture. Ceramic prevents outward glow and also ensures that the heating coil does not soften during use. The situation is different with ceramic tube heaters. They are filled with quartz sand. During operation, the spiral may collapse and destroy the radiator due to a short circuit. The use of a ceramic body brings an infinite life with it.

It can only be influenced by mechanical damage. Ceramic spotlights are regarded as powerful radiation sources that have a surface temperature of about 400Â ° C. Their radiation spectrum is predominantly in the infrared C range. Vitae spotlights: In contrast to other types of spotlights, modern Vitae spotlights are very close to natural IR radiation. The entire IR spectrum is covered by these emitters, as they can also produce a small amount of IR-A rays.

The amount of IR-B rays has been increased to allow the skin’s own heat receptors to function as a kind of early warning system and to signal the overheating of the body early on. Earlier than in the sun, the user feels when it is time to leave the cabin. In this case, it is important that the visitor to such an infrared heat cabin hears his own body and the associated signals. Another advantage of the Vitae emitters is that they are immediately able to emit heat without prewarming time.

Infrared cabin as an aid to medicine and therapies

When infrared rays hit the human body, they penetrate the skin. There, depending on their wavelength, they generate heat in different skin layers. Complaints that occur only occasionally, can be mitigated or treated with a red light lamp. But if the whole body of the larger regions is affected, the purchase of an infrared cabin, including infrared sauna is recommended. In contrast to a conventional sauna, the infrared cabin has relatively low temperatures.

Of course, no one has to worry that it might be too cold as it can reach 50-60 ° C. This makes it possible to use it for people with cardiovascular problems after prior consultation with the attending physician. During the stay in the cabin, the body is warmed by the IR radiation. A similar effect to that of fever is produced and the body is encouraged to sweat.

This is also called so-called Heilschwitzen. It helps to detoxify the body. The kidneys are relieved and the blood pressure can be lowered. At the same time, the skin is better supplied with blood, viruses are killed and pollutants eliminated. If you are facing athletic challenges, you can use an application in the infrared cabin to gently bring the muscles up to “operating temperature”.

Colors and scents for more well-being

Heat alone is already an important factor in making people feel comfortable and relaxed. In order to further enhance the wellness experience in your own infrared warming cabin, a composition of scents, colors and sounds is an ideal choice. Power-saving LED color light provides the opportunity to immerse the room in a soft light. An integrated starry sky in the cabin invites you to leave the hectic everyday life behind you.

Can an infrared cabin help you lose weight?

More and more people are suffering from overweight or obesity (obesity). It has long since become a phenomenon of the society as a whole, especially in the western industrialized countries. Many overweight people are not satisfied with the resulting body proportions or they have to struggle with physical limitations. If the extra pounds hit the brain or even make you ill, you should consider reducing the weight permanently and gently.

Infrared cabin and sauna Combi appliances

An infrared cable and a sauna both have their uses. While the sauna heats up to over 80 degrees and the body is warmed by the ambient temperature, in the infrared cabin the heat goes directly to the body and gets to about 60 degrees warm. If you can not decide between the two models, you also have the opportunity to buy a combi-unit. There are already a variety of models for this, which we would like to introduce here briefly.
